And I'm stuck here shunting trucks
Till a proper shunter comes.
Now my daddy was a bad'un
Causing trouble where he went
I went out to fetch him trucks
At which he sulked and bashed all day.
I don't want to end up like him,
Shunting trucks until I'm scrapped
Got to find another way
To beat the ra--ah--ap!

And I'm stuck here shunting trucks
Till a proper shunter comes.
Trains are quizzing past our yard
Most of the day,
Got to find a bargain

Taking folks from Coast to Coast
But the bigger engines snubbed me
